Google API Disclosure
v1.1 Updated September 2026
1. LIMITED USE
GoodBards only uses data obtained through Google APIs to provide or improve the user-facing features of the GoodBards platform that the user has chosen to enable. In particular, GoodBards:
-
does not transfer Google user data to third parties, except as necessary to provide those features (for example, to our cloud hosting provider), to comply with applicable law, as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to the user, or with the user’s explicit consent;
-
does not use or transfer Google user data for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalised or interest-based advertising;
-
does not sell Google user data;
-
does not allow humans to read Google user data, unless the user has given explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, it is required to comply with applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymised for internal operations;
-
does not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalised or non-personalised artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
2. GOOGLE WORKSPACE APIS
Where GoodBards accesses Google Workspace APIs (Google Drive and Google Docs), it also adheres to the “Limited use of user data” requirement of the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy (https://developers.google.com/workspace/workspace-api-user-data-developer-policy). GoodBards only accesses files that the user creates with, or explicitly opens in, the GoodBards platform.
3. YOUTUBE API SERVICES
The GoodBards platform uses YouTube API Services to display YouTube channel and video performance reports to users who connect their channel. By connecting a YouTube channel, users agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). The Google Privacy Policy (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy) applies to Google’s handling of user data.
-
Access is read-only. GoodBards cannot upload, edit or delete videos, comments or playlists.
-
Retrieved YouTube data is refreshed from the YouTube API on a daily basis. Data that is not refreshed is deleted after 30 calendar days.
-
Users can revoke GoodBards’ access at any time from the platform’s integrations settings or from the Google security settings page (https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions). On revocation, stored tokens are deleted immediately and stored YouTube data within 7 days.
4. REVOKING ACCESS
Users can disconnect any Google account from the GoodBards platform at any time in the integrations settings, or revoke GoodBards’ access from their Google Account permissions page (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions). Disconnecting deletes the stored OAuth tokens immediately.
5. FURTHER INFORMATION
Full details of which Google data GoodBards accesses, why, how it is protected, how long it is kept and how to request deletion are in Section 7 of our Privacy Statement (https://www.goodbards.com/privacy-statement). Questions can be sent to Info@goodbards.com.
